Oregon Board of NAREB. The purpose of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers® is to enhance the professional and business conditions of NAREB® Realtist® members by strengthening the consumer capacity of Black, minority, and emerging target market segments that Realtists® serve.
Oregon Realtists is a Board of NAREB; the National Association of Real Estate Brokers. One of multiple organizations across the country, we are on part of a collective of professionals that embrace the ideals and mission of promoting “Democracy In Housing”. While our name suggests an organization of Real Estate Brokers, it is a professional real estate organization that invites membership from all disciplines in the real estate industry to join us and help promote our mission of “Democracy in Housing”. As a participant in the goals of NAREB, we work to bring together the minority professionals that make up the real estate industry of Oregon to promote the meaningful exchange of ideas about our business and how best to serve our underserved communities and encourage opportunities and environments for creative input of solutions that impact both the workplaces and the marketplaces that influence black and minority homeownership within the state of Oregon.
A Brief NAREB History
NAREB was founded in 1947, making it the oldest minority professional trade association in America. It was formed out of a need to secure the right to equal housing opportunities regardless of race, creed, or color. Since its inception, we have participated in meaningful challenges and legislative activities, to establish fair housing for all. NAREB is governed by a board of directors and an executive committee comprised of members and leaders in the industry from across America. Each local chapter continuously accepts new members to join and actively become community real estate leaders. We are currently updating features on our website including membership.
